Race Date - Sunday 7th Nov 2010
Managed in partnership with Anglian Water and the Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust, this internationally famous nature reserve provides one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in Great Britain. Regularly home to over 20,000 waterfowl, it is designated as a European Special Protection Area and also home to the fantastic bird of prey, the Osprey.
This stunning location will be the setting for the Rutland Water Marathon, covering 26.2 miles along the designated trail route around the reservoir. Starting a few hundred metres from Normanton Church and taking in the Hambleton peninsula, this trail race has some of the most scenic and picturesque views of any race in the UK.
Marshals will provide water at checkpoints every 2-3 miles. Toilet facilities are provided at Normanton south shore car park.
Please note that car parks will require you to pay and display.
