We are pleased to announce that the 2013 Grimsthorpe Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 4th August at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire. This fantastic trail race is set at the Grimsthorpe Castle estate in south Lincolnshire and boasts fantastic scenery and wildlife. The race is open to novice runners and club runners which creates a great atmosphere as familys come to pic nic on the grass while the runners weave through the castle grounds.
A mid morning start (exact time to be confirmed) will see runners complete 13.1 miles on an inspiring route that captures the imagination in some of Lincolnshire’s most beautiful surroundings. The finish line welcomes runners directly in front of the castle itself.
Marshals will provide water at checkpoints every 3- 4 miles. Toilet facilities and car parking will be provided. Please be aware that non-competitors will be required to pay £5 each to enter the Grimsthorpe estate (estate rules).
Grimsthorpe Half Marathon competitors must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the race.

Are toilets available?
Will we receive anything at the finish line to show our completion of the race?
Yes you will receive a memento to mark your completion of the race. This could be a medal, running buff or tshirt
Water will be available every 3-4 miles and will be in plastic cups

Definitely,.. the estate has a large adventure playground for the children , a coffee shop serving food and drink, a cycle hire shop which you can use to explore the estate after the event and it is a great idea to pic nic on the main lawn and watch the runners coming into the finish.
