The first edition of the OFR was a huge success in February 2013. We had so many smiling faces leaving the desert and so many happy memories. We had a sandstorm that interrupted the event part way through but the adventure the entrants had was fantastic to see. We ideally wanted to have the 2nd edition of the event a year after the first but because of a few reasons we have had to have a rethink. The main factor in our decision was the weather. The problem we had with the event being in January, February, March or April was a mixture of reasons that varied with these months from night time temperature being cold , the day light being limited and the potential for another sandstorm being reasonably high. For these reasons we have decided to get the timing of the event right as soon as possible. So with this in mind we will stage the second edition of the race on Sunday the 20th of October 2013. It was a difficult decision but feel it will benefit overall once we have the event settled in a time of year that gives it every chance of avoiding potential problems.
